Dioscorea villosa (Wild Yam) extract 800 µL
derived from root & rhizome dry 400 mg
Asparagus racemosus (Shatavari) extract 800 µL
derived from root dry 400 mg
Actaea racemosa (Black Cohosh) extract 200 µL
derived from root dry 100 mg
Hypericum perforatum (St John’s Wort) extract 100 mg
derived from min. herb top flowering dry 600 mg
standardised to contain hypericin derivatives
calculated as hypericin 333 µg
Salvia officinalis (Sage) extract 580 µL
derived from leaf dry 290 mg
Panax ginseng (Korean Ginseng) extract 15 mg
derived from min. root dry 75 mg
standardised to contain ginsenosides calculated
as Rg1, Re, Rb1, Rc, Rb2 & Rd 1.3 mg
Warnings, Cautions and Contraindications -
- In very rare cases Black Cohosh has been associated with liver failure. If you are experiencing yellowing of the skin or whites of the eyes, dark urine, nausea, vomiting, unusual tiredness, weakness, stomach or abdominal pain, and / or loss of appetite, you should stop using this product and see your doctor.
- Do not use if pregnant or likely to become pregnant.
- Contraindicated during breastfeeding and lactation.
- St John’s Wort affects the way many prescription medicines work, including the oral contraceptive pill. Ensure patient speaks with their doctor about contraceptive requirements.
- Concurrent administration of high doses of St John’s Wort is contraindicated with the following drugs: warfarin, digoxin, immunosuppressive drugs such as cyclosporin, indinavir (HIV protease inhibitor), nevirapine (HIV non-nucleoside transcriptase inhibitor), docetaxel by injection, clozapine, phenprocoumon, methadone, finasteride, voriconazole, cancer chemotherapeutic drugs such as irinotecan and calcium channel antagonists such as nifedipine and verapamil. Caution is advised in patients taking other drug medications.
- Consume at least 2 hours away from ingestion of mineral supplements.
- May cause hyperaesthesia in some sensitive individuals especially when combined with a high exposure to sunlight.
- St John’s Wort is not advisable in cases of known photosensitivity. Patients taking high doses should avoid excessive exposure to sunlight and UV radiation.
- Best avoided in patients with oestrogen-dependent tumours such as breast cancer, until more information is available regarding possible oestrogenic activity of the product.
- Caution for patients taking statins and methadone.
- Sage may provide a small amount of vitamin K, which may affect some medications.
- Caution in patients with pre-existing cholestasis.
- Discontinue 7 days prior to general anaesthesia.
