Polyporus umbellatus (Zhu Ling) has been valued in Traditional Chinese Medicine for more than 2,000 years, first recorded in the Shen Nong Ben Cao Jing as a superior herb.

Unlike most medicinal mushrooms that form fruiting bodies above ground, Polyporus forms dense, tuber-like sclerotia beneath the soil surface — the part used for extraction. These sclerotia are hard and rubbery, developing slowly over 8–12 months before reaching maturity.
Historically, Polyporus was harvested from the wild in forested regions of northern China, but MycoNutri™ sources only cultivated material from Anhui Province, where it is grown in controlled, pesticide-free soil environments to ensure purity and sustainability.

Now produced using 50% high-concentration hot water extract (8-10:1) & 50% full-spectrum hot-water extract both from fruiting body providing a naturally higher level of beta-glucans and dietary fibre derived from the mushroom itself.

This updated formula follows a balanced, natural extraction philosophy, respecting the inherent harmony of the mushroom’s active compounds rather than isolating or exaggerating individual ingredients.

It reflects a holistic approach similar to the Traditional TCM principle of “Jun–Chen–Zuo–Shi”, where each component supports and complements the others to achieve overall balance and efficacy.

MycoNutri™ Zhu Ling is produced from the sclerotium using a dual hot-water extraction process, followed by vacuum concentration, spray-drying, and blending. The final extract contains more than 40% beta-glucans.
