Indications
Golden Seal root is traditionally used in Western herbal medicine:
- to support healthy mucous tissue of the respiratory tract and reduce excess mucous
- to provide relief of mild inflammation of the mucous membranes of the respiratory and digestive tracts
- to stimulate gastric secretions, bile flow from the liver and promote healthy digestion
- to relieve symptoms of indigestion such as bloating and gas.

Dosage and Administration
Adults: 1 tablet 2-3 times daily.

Ingredients -
Hydrastis canadensis (Golden Seal) extract 277 mg
derived from root & rhizome dry 500 mg
Warnings, Cautions and Contraindications -
- Do not use if pregnant or likely to become pregnant.
- Berberine may reinforce the effects of other drugs which displace the protein binding of bilirubin.
- Contraindicated during pregnancy and lactation.
- Caution in patients taking midazolam.
- If diarrhoea persists for more than 6 hours in infants under 6 months, 12 hours in children under 3 years, 24 hours in children aged 3 – 6 years or 48 hours in adults and children over 6 years, seek medical advice.
- Until definitive research is available, do not use in jaundiced neonates.
- Discontinue 7 days prior to general anaesthesia. If patient symptoms persist, seek additional professional advice
