The
quality of our products is very important to us.
We know that you need consistent quality you can trust.
Buying quality will help you to establish an excellent
reputation with your patients. This
section is designed to illustrate the quality of
our Balance Classics™, Three Treasures® and
Women’s Treasure® products. Other products that
we supply have quality statements within their individual
sections, where applicable.
All three ranges* are manufactured according to GMP (Good
Manufacturing Practice) regulations in Taiwan by Kaiser
Pharmaceutical Co. Ltd (KP). Kaiser’s modern scientific
processing methods and rigorous quality control set them
apart from other sources of Chinese herbs. Here are some
reasons why KP are widely considered to be the top in
their field: |
|
 |
•
KP are a GMP-licensed manufacturer and their products
exceed GMP standards. • KP are the
only producer of concentrated extracts able to collect
the volatile oils during the extraction
process. The oils are reintroduced downstream in a
closed system. • KP use the strictest
herb selection and identification protocols available.
Their ID protocol is in a constant state of
upgrade. |

| Stages
of quality control |
 |
Raw
materials
Only the freshest and finest herbs are used. The
raw herbs are inspected for species verification
by experienced botanists. |
|

|
Extraction
In a process used exclusively by our manufacturer,
volatile oils are removed and later re-introduced.
All the herbs, for a single formula, are decocted
together to strengthen synergy. |
|
Evaporation
Collected volatile oils are reintroduced and the
liquid extract is further
concentrated during evaporation. |
 |
Granulation
In a completely enclosed chamber, protected against
cross-contamination, the concentrated herb extracts
undergo a non-continuous granulation process known
as flow coating. The concentrate is sprayed on starch
particles of the same herb(s) and is vacuum-dried
at a low temperature. |
 |
Formation
Tablets are assessed for uniformity of core weight
and hardness and then subjected to a disintegration
test. Bulk tablets are batch numbered and batch
traceability is ensured by keeping batch samples
on file. |
|

|
| Fully
certified quality control |
 |
|
|
After processing, each
batch of every formula is subjected to careful analysis,
ensuring a consistent and stable amount of active ingredients.
Quality control is reflected in a final certificate
listing all relevant information and test results of the
particular lot: • Botanical name.
• Organoleptic properties. • Standard
tests - for example, concerning solubility. •
TLC (Thin Layer Chromatography) footprint - a process
by which the unique ‘footprint’ of each herb
is created. The footprint is then compared to a known
standard to insure both the accuracy and consistency of
each final product. • HPLC (High Performance
Liquid Chromatography) -used to identify the chemical
components of each herb and formula. Final products are
analysed to insure consistent levels of identified active
ingredients through the referral substance. •
Standard test for salmonella and coli-bacteria and total
bacteria count. • Standard determination
of heavy metal values with reference to the limit values
of the Japanese and European pharmacopoeias.
• Pool-testing results for pesticides, herbicides,
and fungicides.
Herbs susceptible to contamination by aflatoxine are tested
separately.
